About Norton Life Coaching

I have worked as a Life Coach for the past 15 years, with both children and adults as I did as a Speech- Language Pathologist. I believe both my personal and professional experiences have guided me in advising my clients over the years. By focusing on short term goals and meeting in person on a weekly basis, we aim to meet our long term goals. Education is the key to successful plan of action as a person must gain self-confidence first before tackling this specific issues.

About Jim Norton

After graduating with a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology, I started up a healthcare staffing company. At the age of 25, it started small but over the 33 years of operations, it grew to 900 employees and provided services in over 40 states.

During this time, I got married and raised four children who attended Cohasset Public Schools. Two of my children have now graduated while the other two are still completing their four years of college. I had the experience of working with the Special Ed Departments and participated in many IEP’s over the years. Families have also used me as a consultant during their child’s IEP implementation.

I also became a Big Brother in 1994 to a ten-year-old boy with severe developmental delays. Just this year, we celebrated over 30 years of brotherhood. I had the honor of being selected at Massachusetts Big Brother of the Year in the 90’s and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in the following years. I helped my brother and his mother navigate the intense IEP system and worked on placement in several residential settings: Schools, Group Homes and Shared Living.

I started up a residential real estate company in 1997 and a commercial real estate company in 2007. I bought and managed these properties throughout the country and have assisted families with mortgage applications, interest rates and choosing the best town for their family.

I stuttered as a child and know what it feels like for a child to feel “ different” than his peers. I am a two time cancer survivor and experienced the stress and fear that accompanies this terrible disease. I also experienced it as a parent as one of my children dealthtwith pediatric cancer. We were fortunate to have both the Dare Farber/ Jimmy Fund Clinics in our backyard. We also flew across the country and met with specialists of this rare cancer to determine the best source of care for our child.

I enjoy tennis and still play soccer on a weekly basis. Physical fitness is a key contributing factor to mental well being. I enjoy spending time with my four children, my wife and our two dogs.
